Preparation
- Pat the pork chops dry before seasoning.
- Season the pork chops with black pepper and garlic powder.
- Heat oil in a pan and sear the pork chops until browned on both sides, if desired.
- Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Add the seared pork chops on top of the onions.
- Mix the beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, and cold water in a bowl and pour over the pork chops.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water to thicken the gravy in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles and add steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen after cooling.
