Preparation
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size.
- Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with a dab of oil or a quick spray.
- Place the potato chunks in an even layer in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry brown gravy mix and water until fully dissolved.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the potatoes.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours until tender.
- If the gravy is thin, leave the lid off and cook on HIGH for another 15 to 20 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serving
- Serve the potatoes in a bowl, topped with the rich gravy.
- This dish pairs well with a side of steamed vegetables or a simple salad.
- You can also serve it alongside some crusty bread to soak up the delicious gravy.
Notes
To store leftovers, let the dish cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For extra flavor, add diced onion or garlic to the slow cooker. If you like a thicker gravy, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and stir it in during the last cooking phase.
