Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb Bulk Pork Sausage
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded Reserve some for topping
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 cups Biscuit or Baking Mix Can substitute with homemade mix
  • 1 tsp Rubbed Sage
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Method

Cooking
  1. Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until no pink remains, breaking it into small crumbles.
  2. Add minced garlic to the cooked sausage and let it cook for about one minute.
  3. Remove the skillet from the heat and drain off any excess grease.
  4. Stir in most of the shredded Monterey Jack cheese into the warm sausage, then transfer everything to a greased 9-inch deep-dish pie plate.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. Add baking mix, rubbed sage, and black pepper, then mix until combined.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage in the pie plate, allowing it to settle.
  7. Sprinkle the reserved Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake until the center is set and the top is lightly golden, watching for over-browning of cheese.
  9. Let the pie rest for about 10 minutes before cutting and serving warm.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until heated through. Feel free to adjust the sausage or cheese amount and add vegetables for extra flavor.
