Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (80–90% lean) Use lean ground beef to avoid excess grease.
  • 2 cans (14.75 ounces each) creamed corn Can substitute with fresh corn but may need extra cream or milk.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional) Optional for additional flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch glass baking dish.
  3. Crumble the raw ground beef evenly into the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with salt and optional black pepper.
  4. In a medium bowl, stir together the creamed corn and sour cream, then pour this mixture over the beef.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 15-20 minutes until bubbling and golden. Ensure the beef is fully cooked.
Serving
  1. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or garlic bread. For a crunchier top, uncover for the last few minutes of baking.
