  • 24 pieces square wonton wrappers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup thick salsa Can be mild, medium, or hot based on preference.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend) Divide into two portions - 1 cup for the filling and 0.5 cup for topping.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a standard 12 cup muffin pan with cooking spray.
  3. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup to form a cup.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese and salsa until smooth.
  5. Fold in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Spoon the mixture into each wonton cup, filling about three-quarters full.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden and the filling is hot.
  2. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

These Wonton Cups are best served warm and can be paired with additional salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
