Sticky Orange Glazed Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients
  

  • 8 chicken drumstick s
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion , thinly sliced

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together orange marmalade, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes.
  4. Simmer the glaze for 5 to 7 minutes until it thickens slightly and is well combined, then remove from heat.
  5. Place a wire cooling rack on the prepared baking sheet and arrange drumsticks on the rack.
  6. Lightly brush the drumsticks with vegetable oil and roast in the oven for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and brush the drumsticks generously with the prepared orange glaze.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, brushing with more glaze every 10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
