Ingredients

  • 2 (10-ounce) ribeye steaks
  • 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning, divided
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Season the steaks generously on both sides with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or until they reach your preferred internal temperature.
  3. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside on a plate to rest.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Toss the shrimp with 1/2 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning and sauté for 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  5. Add the diced onion and red bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables have softened.
  6. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 60 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Pour the heavy cream and the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning into the skillet. Bring to a light simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Return the shrimp to the sauce and toss to coat.
  9. Slice the rested steaks against the grain and spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley.
