Preparation
- Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
- Toast the pecan halves in a dry skillet over medium heat for 4–6 minutes until they become fragrant.
Cooking
- In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar and butter. Melt them over medium heat while stirring until the mixture becomes thick and glossy.
- Stir in the toasted pecans, making sure they are well coated with the mixture.
- Drop spoonfuls of the pecan mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Let them cool until set, which will take about 30–45 minutes.
Notes
Store pralines in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for about a week. For longer freshness, refrigerate them. Add a pinch of sea salt for a salty-sweet variation.
