  • 2 packages 2 (14-ounce) packages smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 block 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 can 1 (10-ounce) can cheddar cheese soup
  • 3/4 cup 3/4 cup beer For a milder flavor, use a light lager or pilsner.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized rounds if it’s not already sliced.
  2. Add the sausage to the slow cooker crock.
  3. Place the cubed cream cheese, cheddar cheese soup, and beer over the sausage.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and hot.
  2. Once finished, switch the slow cooker to warm.
Serving
  1. Serve the sausage bites hot straight from the crock with toothpicks or small plates.

Notes

For preparation ahead of time, slice the sausage and cube the cream cheese the night before and store them in the refrigerator. This dish pairs well with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.
