Ingredients
  

  • For the Salisbury Steak
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • For the Gravy and Potatoes
  • 4 –5 Yukon Gold potatoes chopped
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Beef Patties
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into thick oval patties.
  3. Step 2: Brown the Patties
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties for about 2 minutes per side. They do not need to cook fully at this stage.
  5. Step 3: Add Ingredients to Slow Cooker
  6. Place the chopped potatoes and diced onions into the bottom of the slow cooker. Arrange the browned patties on top.
  7. Step 4: Make the Gravy
  8. In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, and cream of mushroom soup until smooth. Pour the mixture over the patties and potatoes.
  9. Step 5: Slow Cook
  10. Cover and cook:
  11. LOW for 6–7 hours
  12. or
  13. HIGH for 3–4 hours
  14. The potatoes should be tender and the gravy thick and rich.
