A vertical, close-up shot inside a black slow cooker showing a rack of baby back ribs standing upright. The ribs are coated in a thick, dark, and glistening mahogany-colored barbecue glaze. The meat is visibly tender, pulling away from the clean white bone tips. The bottom of the pot is filled with a bubbling, rich sauce.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs Baby Back Ribs membrane removed
  • 12 oz Cola standard, not diet
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • The Dry Rub: 1 tbsp smoked paprika 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.

Method

  1. Rub: Pat the ribs dry with paper towels. Combine the dry rub ingredients and massage the mixture firmly into both sides of the meat.
  2. The Bath: Place the ribs in the slow cooker (cut the rack in half if needed to fit). Pour the cola into the bottom of the pot, avoiding pouring it directly over the meat so the rub stays intact.
  3. Low & Slow: Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours (or HIGH for 4 hours). The meat should be tender and just starting to pull away from the bone.
  4. Glaze Prep: In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
  5. The Finish: Carefully transfer the ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet. Brush them generously with the glaze.
  6. Broil: Place under the broiler for 3–5 minutes until the sauce is bubbling, tacky, and slightly charred at the edges.
  7. Rest & Serve: Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra sauce for the ultimate finger-licking experience.
