Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs Ensure skin-on for best flavor and tenderness.
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Feel free to adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves Can swap for peach or mango preserves.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. Open the family pack of chicken thighs and place them skin-side up in the slow cooker insert. If needed, overlap them slightly to fit them all in an even layer.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the dry onion soup mix, barbecue sauce, apricot preserves, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken thighs, ensuring the tops are well coated.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and very tender.
  2. Carefully transfer the chicken to plates or a serving platter. Spoon the sauce from the slow cooker over the top before serving.

Notes

Serve your chicken thighs with a side of rice, mashed potatoes, or fresh bread to soak up the sauce. This dish is perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.
