Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 pounds bone-in pork ribs (country-style or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar Ensure it is packed for accurate measurement.
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade sauce.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Regular or low-sodium soy sauce can be used.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the pork ribs dry and trim any excess fat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce until smooth.
  3. Layer the ribs in a slow cooker and pour the sauce over them.
Cooking
  1. Cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours or HIGH for 4 to 5 hours until the ribs are tender.
  2. Carefully transfer the ribs to a plate.
  3. Pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan, skim off any fat, and simmer until it thickens.
  4. Return the ribs to the slow cooker or place on a baking sheet and coat with the glaze.
  5. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes for caramelization, or let them sit in the slow cooker to soak up the glaze.
Serving
  1. Serve hot and enjoy! These ribs can be enjoyed on their own or with sides like coleslaw, cornbread, or grilled vegetables.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the ribs in the sauce overnight. For a spicier twist, add chili powder or hot sauce to the mixture. Keep an eye on the ribs while broiling to avoid burning.
