Sloppy Joe Biscuit Bake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky layers biscuits
  • 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat vegetable oil and brown the ground beef with onion and bell pepper until meat is fully cooked through.
  3. Drain excess grease from the skillet.
  4. Stir the sloppy joe sauce into the beef mixture and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the beef mixture into it.
  6. Cut each refrigerated biscuit into quarters.
  7. Arrange the biscuit pieces over the beef mixture and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
