Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sal t
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger bun s
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 16 slices pepperon i
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties, approximately 3/4-inch thick.
  3. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  5. While burgers cook, butter the buns and toast them on a separate pan until golden brown.
  6. Top each cooked patty with 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce, 1/4 cup of mozzarella, and 4 pepperoni slices.
  7. Place a lid over the skillet for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
  8. Place the patties onto the toasted buns and serve immediately.
