  • 2 cups pecans, toasted and finely chopped Toast the pecans to enhance their flavor.
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For Coating
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, for coating You can experiment with different types of chocolate, such as dark or white chocolate.

Method
 

Preparing the Filling
  1. Toast the pecans until fragrant, then let them cool and finely chop them.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the maple syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the bowl.
  4. Stir the mixture until it is evenly combined and holds together when pressed.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture for about 30 minutes to help it firm up.
  6. Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of the filling and roll it into a ball.
  7. Arrange the balls on a parchment-lined tray and chill for another 20-30 minutes.
Coating the Balls
  1. Melt the semisweet chocolate in a microwave, using short intervals and stirring until smooth.
  2. Dip each chilled pecan ball into the melted chocolate.
  3. Return the chocolate-coated balls to the parchment-lined tray and let the chocolate set completely before serving.

Notes

Store Pecan Pie Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for about a week. You can also freeze them for longer storage. Just make sure to separate layers with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together.
