Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place a 10–12 inch oven-safe skillet on the stovetop over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes, spooning off any excess grease.
- Stir in 2 1/2 cups of pasta sauce and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the macaroni, making sure it is covered in the sauce.
- Mix in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, then smooth the top. Scatter the remaining cheese and sauce on top.
Baking
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Check the pasta tenderness and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes if needed.
- Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 8–10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve straight from the skillet for a rustic touch. Pair with a simple salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored and reheated easily.
