Ingredients

For the beef mixture
  • 1 lb Ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 small Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
For assembly
  • 12 pieces Slider buns Can use regular burger buns as well.
  • 8 slices Cheddar cheese Feel free to use different cheese types.
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted For brushing on top of buns.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and finely diced onion. Cook until the beef is completely browned, breaking it into small crumbles.
  3. Drain most of the excess grease, leaving a small amount to keep the beef moist.
  4. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir and reduce heat to medium-low.
  5. Simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most liquid is absorbed and beef is tender.
Assembly
  1. Slice the slider buns horizontally through the middle, keeping them connected.
  2. Place the bottom half of the slider buns into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spoon the seasoned ground beef evenly over the bottom buns.
  4. Arrange cheddar cheese slices over the beef.
  5. Place the top half of the slider buns over the cheese and gently press into place.
  6. Brush melted butter over the tops of the buns.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5–8 minutes, until cheese is melted and tops are lightly golden.
  9. Let sliders rest for a few minutes before cutting apart and serving warm.

Notes

Serve warm with pickles or your favorite condiments. Pairs well with chips or a simple salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
