Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet or muffin tin with parchment paper or a light coating of nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the shredded cheddar cheese and egg until the cheese is lightly coated and starts to clump together.
- Scoop small mounds of the cheese mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and press a piece of sliced hot dog into the center of each mound.
Baking
- Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, deeply golden around the edges, and bubbling.
- Let the bites cool for 2 to 3 minutes so they firm up a little, then transfer to a plate.
Serving
- Serve warm with your favorite low-carb dipping sauce.
Notes
For added variety, you can use different types of cheese or hot dogs. Jalapeño slices or herbs can enhance flavor.
