Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a pie dish or baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Dice the cooked ham into bite-sized pieces. Shred the Swiss cheese if using a block for the freshest flavor.
- Spread the ham evenly across the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the Swiss cheese evenly over the top.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, melted butter, salt, and pepper until smooth. The batter will be thin, similar to pancake batter.
- Stir in the finely chopped onion for extra flavor depth.
- Carefully pour the batter mixture evenly over the ham and cheese layers.
Baking
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is set. The pie should no longer jiggle when gently shaken.
- Allow the Impossible Ham And Swiss Pie to rest for about 10 minutes before cutting. This helps the layers set properly.
Serving
- Slice and enjoy this cheesy ham side dish while warm for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
Serve warm, sliced into wedges. Pairs wonderfully with a simple garden salad or steamed vegetables. Optional: Add a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh herbs for added flavor.
