Honey Lemon Sesame Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup hone y
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and place a wire rack over a large rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Pat chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy texture.
  3. In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack and bake for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 to 8 minutes until the glaze has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  7. Remove the glaze from heat and stir in the toasted sesame oil.
  8. Transfer the crispy baked wings to a large mixing bowl and pour the warm glaze over them.
  9. Toss wings until fully coated, then garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
