Ingredients

  • 8 lb bone-in fully cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice or water for the pan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep.
  3. Place the ham in a shallow glass or ceramic baking dish and pour pineapple juice into the bottom.
  4. Cover the ham tightly with aluminum foil to prevent it from drying out while heating.
  5. Bake for approximately 15 minutes per pound (about 2 hours) or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, brown sugar, melted butter, mustard, cinnamon, and cloves.
  7. Remove ham from the oven and increase heat to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Remove the foil and generously brush half of the glaze over the entire ham, ensuring it gets into the score marks.
  9. Return the ham to the oven uncovered for 10 minutes.
  10. Brush with the remaining glaze and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and dark golden brown.
  11. Let the ham rest for at least 15 minutes before carving to allow juices to redistribute.
