Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 16.3 oz can refrigerated biscuit dough yields 8 biscuits
  • 8 oz thinly sliced cooked ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
Butter mixture
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. Separate the biscuits and gently flatten each one into a circle about 4 inches wide.
  3. Place a portion of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese in the center of each biscuit.
  4. Fold the dough around the filling and pinch the edges together securely.
  5. Arrange the filled biscuits seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
Baking
  1. In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder.
  2. Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the biscuits, then sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  3. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed and deeply golden and the cheese is melted.
  4. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

These sliders are best served warm. You can serve them with dipping sauces like mustard or ranch for extra flavor. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving again. Tips include ensuring even flattening of biscuits for better cooking and using different types of cheese or meat as desired.
