Ingredients

For the pie filling
  • 8 oz cooked ham, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg beaten, for brushing the pastry
For the crust
  • 1 package refrigerated puff pastry, thawed (about 14 oz / 400 g)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch (23 cm) pie dish or baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Stir in the diced ham, mozzarella, feta, and parsley until everything is evenly combined.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry and gently press it into the prepared pie dish, leaving a little pastry hanging over the edges. Trim any excess if needed.
  5. Pour the ham and cheese mixture into the pastry crust and spread it into an even layer. Fold the edges of the pastry slightly over the filling.
  6. Brush the exposed pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
Baking
  1. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown and the center of the filling is set.
  2. Let the pie cool for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad or yogurt on the side. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for longer storage. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat in the oven.
