  • 30 ounces frozen shredded hash browns
  • 10.5 ounces condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, melted butter, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  2. Add about 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture and stir well.
  3. Gently fold in the frozen hash browns until everything is combined.
  4. Lightly grease a 6-quart Crock Pot and spoon in the potato mixture, spreading it into an even layer.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, or until the potatoes are tender and the casserole is bubbly.
  7. Let the casserole sit uncovered for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm as a main dish or side, and consider adding cooked bacon or sausage for extra flavor. This dish can be prepared a day in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
