Prep the Buns: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the hot dog buns snugly in a 9x13-inch baking dish or on a rimmed baking sheet. Packing them tightly keeps them upright and catches all that melting cheese!
The Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Brush the inside of each bun generously with the butter mixture.
The Assembly: Place one hot dog into each buttered bun. If you want to add a hidden layer of flavor, you can swipe a little mustard or onion jam inside before adding the dog.
The Cheese Blanket: Pile the shredded cheese over the top of the hot dogs. Don't be shy—let the cheese spill over the sides onto the buns; those crispy edges are the best part!
Bake to Perfection: Slide the pan into the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes. You’re looking for the cheese to be fully melted, bubbling, and decorated with golden-brown toasted spots.
Garnish & Serve: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with fresh herbs. Serve while the cheese is molten and the buns are perfectly crispy.
