Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 ounces medium pasta shells
  • 1 jar jarred salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (regular full-fat) Make sure the cream cheese is softened.

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta shells until al dente, about 8–10 minutes.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set the shells aside.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, warm the salsa for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add small pieces of softened cream cheese into the salsa, stirring constantly until melted and smooth, adding a splash of reserved pasta water as needed.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Add the drained shells to the skillet, gently tossing to coat.
  2. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until everything is hot and creamy.

Notes

Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley, and consider adding grated cheese for richness. Pairs well with a simple side salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, reheat with a splash of water or milk.
