Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, French dressing, and dry onion soup mix.
- Add the optional brown sugar and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the cranberry mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated.
Cooking
- Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 to 20 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
- Spoon the cranberry sauce over the chicken. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
