Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef with onions until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
Stir in garlic and marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, egg, dried spinach, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until uniform.
Spread 1/2 cup of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Place a layer of noodles over the sauce.
Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then 1/3 of the remaining meat sauce, and 1 cup of mozzarella.
Repeat layers twice (noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, mozzarella).
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
