Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 0.5 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp blackened seasoning
  • 1 lb fettuccine pasta
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook fettuccine until al dente, then drain.
  2. Thoroughly coat the steak strips and shrimp with blackened seasoning in a medium bowl.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large heavy-bottomed skillet over high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sear steak strips for 3-4 minutes until a dark crust forms and they reach desired doneness; remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the same skillet and sear shrimp for 2-3 minutes until opaque; remove and set aside.
  6. Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Add minced garlic to the butter and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Whisk in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  9. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
  10. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
  11. Toss the cooked fettuccine into the sauce until evenly coated.
  12. Divide pasta into bowls and top with the blackened steak, shrimp, and fresh parsley.
