Ingredients
  

  • 4 5 lb pork shoulder pork butt
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Method
 

  1. Prep the Pork
  2. Pat the pork shoulder dry. Mix all dry spices in a bowl, then rub evenly over the meat.
  3. Set Up Cooking
  4. Place the pork in a slow cooker or roasting pan. Add apple cider vinegar and chicken broth around the meat.
  5. Cook Low and Slow
  6. Cook on low for 8 hours (or until the pork is tender and falls apart easily).
  7. Shred the Pork
  8. Remove the pork and shred it using two forks. Discard excess fat if needed.
  9. Add Sauce
  10. Mix shredded pork with BBQ sauce and some cooking juices for extra flavor.
