Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz) Make sure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz each)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional) For added flavor.
  • 1 egg beaten (for brushing) To give the crescents a shiny top.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined. If desired, fold in the cheddar cheese now.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle, then roll up towards the narrow end, pinching the edges to seal.
  6. Place the crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with dipping sauces like ranch or chili sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
