Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 8–10 pieces frozen hash brown patties
  • 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided 1 cup for layering, 1 cup for topping
  • 1 tablespoon butter or cooking spray For greasing the baking dish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Arrange the frozen hash brown patties in a single layer in the bottom of the baking dish without overlapping.
  4. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the frozen patties, followed by the diced ham.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  6. Pour this mixture evenly over the casserole.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40–50 minutes until puffed and golden, checking with a knife for doneness.
  2. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing into portions and serve warm.

Notes

This casserole is best served warm right out of the oven. Enjoy as a main dish for breakfast or a light dinner. Can add hot sauce or salsa for extra flavor.
