Ingredients

Base and Toppings
  • 1 roll refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, about 16.5 ounces Use your favorite cookie dough.
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Can substitute with walnuts or almonds.
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips Feel free to use other types of chocolate.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch glass casserole dish.
  2. Press about two-thirds of the chocolate chip cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the dish to form the crust.
  3. Pour the caramel sauce over the dough and spread it gently, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped pecans and chocolate chips evenly over the caramel layer.
  5. Pinch off the remaining cookie dough and scatter small pieces across the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the edges are lightly crisp.
  2. Let the bars cool completely in the dish to allow the caramel to settle before cutting into squares.
  3. For the neatest slices, chill them for 30 minutes after cooling, then cut and serve.
