Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust Use homemade or store-bought
  • 1.5 cups apple butter High-quality or homemade recommended
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch ceramic pie plate if it's not already fitted.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the apple butter, sweetened condensed milk, and cinnamon until the filling is smooth and well blended.
  3. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon or a small spatula.
  4. Bake the pie for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center looks set and the edges are slightly puffed with bubbles.
  5. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to help the filling firm up properly.
Serving
  1. Slice and serve the pie as is or top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Storage
  1. Store the pie in the refrigerator, cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil for up to 3-4 days.
  2. For longer storage, freeze slices wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in an airtight container for up to 2 months.

Notes

Consider blind baking the crust for about 10 minutes before adding the filling for a crispier texture. For added flavor, mix in chopped nuts or dried fruits before baking.
