Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease an oven-safe metal baking pan.
  2. Add the raw cubed sweet potatoes to the pan and spread them out in an even layer.
Baking
  1. Pour the melted butter over the sweet potatoes, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly across the top.
  2. Cover the pan loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the foil, stir gently, and bake for 20 to 25 minutes more, or until the sweet potatoes are fork-tender and the syrup is bubbling around the edges.
Serving
  1. Let the dessert rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving so the syrup thickens slightly and coats the sweet potatoes beautifully.

Notes

This dessert can be served warm or at room temperature. It pairs well with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 5 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through. Make sure to cut the sweet potatoes into uniform cubes for even cooking.
