Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 bag (30 ounces) frozen classic hash browns, slightly thawed Slightly thaw for easier mixing.
  • 2 cups shredded four cheese blend Can customize cheese blend to your liking.
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened and cubed Ensure it is softened for easy blending.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled Reserve some for topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Lightly grease the inside of an oval slow cooker.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the slightly thawed hash browns, shredded four cheese blend, cream cheese, sour cream, and most of the crumbled bacon. Reserve a small handful of bacon for topping.
  3. Stir everything until well mixed, ensuring the cream cheese is evenly distributed.
  4. Spoon the mixture into the prepared slow cooker and spread it out evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved bacon over the top.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the potatoes are tender and the casserole is hot and bubbling around the edges.
  2. For a crispier golden top, place the insert under the broiler for 2 to 4 minutes, watching closely until the surface turns a deeper golden color.
  3. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before scooping and serving warm straight from the slow cooker.
